The AfterWorn Shipping Guide
Shipping intimate items well means two things: protecting everyone's privacy, and getting the parcel there safely and hygienically. This guide covers exactly how to do both on AfterWorn — discreet packaging, customs, address masking and tracking.
Discreet Packaging Requirements
Discreet packaging is mandatory on AfterWorn — it protects the buyer, the seller and the Platform. Every parcel must be sent so that nobody handling it can tell what is inside or that it relates to an adult marketplace.
- Use a plain outer box or mailer — no AfterWorn branding, no logos, no suggestive wording anywhere on the outside.
- Use a neutral or generic return name. Never write the recipient's real name (you will not have it anyway — see address masking below).
- Seal the item inside an opaque inner bag so the contents are not visible if the outer packaging is damaged.
- Avoid printed tape or stickers that hint at the contents.
Customs Declarations
For international orders you will complete a customs form. Always describe the contents accurately but neutrally — for example "personal apparel" or "clothing sample". Declare the value honestly. Do not write anything explicit or anything that names AfterWorn. A neutral, truthful declaration keeps the parcel discreet and avoids customs delays.
Address Masking — How It Works
AfterWorn protects both parties' real identities throughout shipping:
- The seller never sees the buyer's real name — only their display name. Sellers are responsible for shipping discreetly in plain, unbranded packaging with a neutral return name.
- Keep personal details private: communicate only via display names and avoid sharing real addresses in messages.
- Where Proof of Wear is required, the destination address is only released to the seller after POW is approved.
- The shipping label carries only the information needed to deliver the parcel — nothing about AfterWorn or either user's identity.
Tracking — How to Enter It
Once you have dispatched the parcel, mark the order as shipped in your seller console and enter the tracking number only. You do not re-enter the destination address — it is already on the label. AfterWorn then follows the carrier's tracking events.
The buyer sees the carrier, the expected delivery date and the tracking number, and can mark the order received on arrival. If the buyer takes no action, the order auto-completes a set number of days after delivery, and the payment is released to the seller on the normal schedule.
Ship-Within Times
Each listing states a handling time — how many days you need to dispatch after an order is paid (and, where applicable, after Proof of Wear is approved). Ship within that window. Prompt, reliable dispatch improves your response-time signal, your Trust Score and your reviews. If you need a longer wear duration, set realistic expectations in the listing and communicate with the buyer.
International Shipping
AfterWorn connects buyers and sellers across 80+ countries. When listing, set the countries you are willing to ship to and include international shipping costs. International parcels take longer and require a customs form — factor this into your handling time and communicate clearly with international buyers about expected delivery windows.
Restricted & Prohibited Destinations
Some countries prohibit the import of adult items, and AfterWorn restricts access in some territories at its discretion. It is the seller's responsibility to ship only to permitted destinations and to comply with the export and import rules that apply. If you are unsure whether you can ship to a given country, do not accept the order. Prohibited items — including bodily fluids and anything illegal — must never be shipped, in any destination.
Tips for Safe, Hygienic Packaging
- Seal the item in a fresh, airtight bag — this preserves condition and is more hygienic for the buyer.
- Never include personal documents, handwritten notes with real names, or anything revealing your identity or location.
- Use new packing materials. Reused boxes can carry old labels or barcodes that cause mis-delivery.
- Photograph the sealed, packaged parcel before dispatch — useful evidence if a dispute arises.
- Choose a tracked service. Tracking protects you: it proves dispatch and delivery.
- Keep your proof of postage receipt until the order is completed.
